Developer apps
If you build software for pet businesses — a booking app, a CRM, a marketplace — you can register it yourself and let businesses connect it to their United Pet Club bookings through the Partner API. The Partner API is free: registering an app costs nothing and needs no card, and connecting one is free for businesses too. A business needs a valid payment card on file to connect an app.
Software that installs itself on many sites or runs as an AI agent — a WordPress booking plugin, for example — can instead register itself, without an account; businesses then see it as an unverified app. The developer guide explains how. Apps you register here show your profile as their publisher.
Everything is under Account → Developer in your United Pet Club account. The app belongs to the profile you’re acting as when you register it — usually your company’s profile — and businesses see that profile’s name as the app’s publisher.
Register an app
Section titled “Register an app”- Go to Account → Developer → Applications and select Register an App.
- Fill in the app’s name, website, privacy policy URL and support e-mail.
- Add your redirect URIs, one per line: the pages of your app the consent page may send a business
back to, exactly as written. They must be
https, excepthttp://localhostfor testing. - Choose what your app will ask for — the permissions businesses see on the consent page. Ask only for what your app needs.
- Select Register App.
The next window shows your client ID and client secret. This is the only time you’ll see the secret: copy it into your server’s secret store, then select I’ve Stored It. If you lose it, rotate it (below) to get a new one.
Your app can be used at once. Until United Pet Club reviews it, businesses see Not reviewed by United Pet Club on the consent page. It isn’t listed anywhere: businesses reach it through your own sign-up flow.
Manage an app
Section titled “Manage an app”Select Manage on an app to open its page:
- Credentials — the client ID and the client secrets with their status. Rotate Secret issues a new secret (shown once); the current one keeps working for 24 hours so you can deploy the new one.
- Redirect URIs and Scopes — edit them and select Save Changes. A business that already connected keeps what it allowed until it connects again.
- Connected businesses — the businesses that allowed your app, when they connected and when your app last worked with their bookings. Disconnect stops your app’s access to one business; the business can connect your app again.
- Quick start — the authorize URL, the token URL and the API base URL to put in your app, with a link to the Partner API guide.
Account → Developer → Scopes lists every permission an app can ask for, and API keys lists your apps with their active client secrets.
When we review an app
Section titled “When we review an app”Some apps are reviewed by United Pet Club before they can use the API; they show Pending review in your list. When we decide, we tell you by e-mail and with a notification under the bell in your dashboard, for the profile that published the app, in your account’s language. Both link to the app’s page.
- Approved — your app can use the Partner API, and you can list it in the app marketplace.
- Not approved — with the reason. The app stays registered but can’t use the API.
- Changes needed — with what to change. The app is a draft again, and once you’ve made the changes it can be submitted for review again.
Questions about a decision? Use our contact form and include the app code from the e-mail.
Keep your secret safe
Section titled “Keep your secret safe”Your client secret is a password for your app. Keep it on your server — never in a website’s code, a mobile app or a code repository. If you think it leaked, rotate it right away, and deploy the new secret within 24 hours.
For the technical details — the consent link, tokens, the API and webhooks — see the Partner API guide.
