Profile photos

Your public profile page has two pictures: the wide header photo across the top, and the profile photo that sits over it. Open My Profile → Photos in the sidebar (My Business or My Place on those profiles) to set either one.

Both belong to the profile you’re currently acting as, so switch profiles in the sidebar first if you manage more than one.

  1. Open Photos in your profile section (My Profile, My Business or My Place).
  2. Under Header photo or Profile photo, click Choose a Photo.
  3. Pick an image from your media library or upload a new one, then click Use This Photo.

The photo is saved immediately — there’s no separate Save button. To swap it later, click Change Photo; to take it down, click Remove.

The header spans the full width of your profile page, so it’s cropped to a wide strip on every screen. A landscape photo about three times wider than it is tall works best, and anything you want people to see should sit near the middle — the left and right edges are the first thing to go on a narrow phone screen.

The profile photo is shown as a circle over the header, and beside your name everywhere else on the site. A logo or a square, close-cropped portrait reads best; a wide photo will have its sides cut off.

It’s also how you know at a glance which profile you’re working as: the round button at the top right of your dashboard shows the photo of the profile you’re acting as, and so do the profile switcher (beside that profile) and the lock screen you see after switching. Your other profiles in the switcher show their first letter. A profile without a photo shows its first letter everywhere.

Your header photo also runs across the top of your career portfolio, where you can change it too. It is also the preview image used when someone shares a link to your profile or your portfolio on social media or in a chat. If you haven’t set one, your profile photo is used instead, and a plain colored gradient stands in for the header.
