Who can see your posts

Every feed post has an audience. You choose it when you write the post, and you can change it later. It decides who sees the post in their feed, on your public profile and in searches.

Create post and Edit post on My Dashboard (/dashboard/home): the pill under your name, which always says the current choice (for example Public).

  1. In Create post, select the pill under your name.

  2. Who can see this post? opens with four choices, each with what it means:

    ChoiceWho sees the post
PublicAnyone, on United Pet Club and on your public profile page.
MembersPeople signed in to United Pet Club. Not on your public page.
FollowersOnly the people who follow this profile.
Only meOnly you. Change it later to share it.
  3. Select one. The pill shows your choice.

  4. Post as usual.

Your choice is remembered: the next post you write as the same profile starts with the same audience. This is kept in your browser, so on another computer or phone a new post starts at Public.

  • Followers means the members who follow the profile you posted as. Someone who doesn’t follow you never sees a Followers post, even if they open your profile.
  • Only me posts can’t be reacted to or reported, not even by you. They’re a place to keep a post until you’re ready to share it.
  • Your own posts always show in your own feed, whatever their audience.

On a post, an audience other than Public shows as a small icon after the time (a group of people for Members, a person with a tick for Followers, a lock for Only me). Point at it to see its name.

Open Post options (⋯) on your post, select Edit post, change the pill, and select Save changes. The change applies at once: a post you make more private disappears from feeds and from your public profile (the public page can take up to a minute to catch up).
