Sharing a pet or a litter
A share lets someone watch a pet grow without you sending them updates every day. They see the photos, the weight chart and the parents you choose, on a private page of the United Pet Club website. They can look, never change anything, and they don’t join the pet’s care circle.
Sharing one pet is free. Sharing a whole litter at once needs a Litter Pass for that litter.
Share one pet
Section titled “Share one pet”- Open the pet’s page under Pets and find Who can watch.
- Choose Share.
- Decide who can see it:
- Anyone with the link: no account needed. You send the link yourself, by message or e-mail. Anyone who has the link can open the page.
- A United Pet Club member: only that member, signed in. The pet appears under their Pets → Shared with me.
- Tick what they see: Photos, Weight chart, Parents. The name, sex, date of birth and breed are always shown.
- Optionally give the share a name only you see (for example “The Smith family”) and a date when it stops.
- Choose Create link (or Share for a member).
Copy the link straight away. For privacy it is shown only once. If you lose it, choose New link next to the share: you get a new link and the old one stops working.
Share a whole litter
Section titled “Share a whole litter”On the litter’s page, choose Share next to Edit and Add mating. Every pup of the litter is ticked; untick any you don’t want to show, for example a pup another family has already reserved. The rest works as for one pet.
A whole-litter share needs a Litter Pass for the litter. Without one, the dialog says so; you can still share each pup from its own page. With a Litter Pass the page the viewer sees carries no ads.
What the viewer sees
Section titled “What the viewer sees”The page shows the pets you still own, with the sections you ticked:
- the photos on each pet’s page, including photos only you can see anywhere else;
- a weight chart (one line per pup for a litter, in each pup’s collar colour) and a table of every weigh-in;
- the mother and father, linked to their public pages when they have one;
- how many of a litter have already gone to their new homes.
The page never shows where a pet lives, your notes, or its health records. Search engines don’t list it, and a visitor’s browser doesn’t hand the link to the websites they go to from it.
When a pet goes to its new home
Section titled “When a pet goes to its new home”When a pet is transferred to someone else, every share of that pet stops in the same step. The people watching it see that it has gone to a new home. A litter share keeps showing the pups that are still with you and stops once the last one has left.
The new owner starts fresh: nothing you shared carries over to them, and their pet is theirs to share.
Stop sharing
Section titled “Stop sharing”Next to each share under Who can watch, choose the bin icon to stop it at once. A share with an end date stops by itself on that day.
Things shared with you
Section titled “Things shared with you”Open Pets → Shared with me to see the pets and litters other members shared with you. Open shows the page on the United Pet Club website; sign in with the same account if it asks.
A link someone sent you works without an account. If it says it doesn’t open anything, ask the person who shared it for a new link.
