Polls, quizzes and events

An interactive post asks your followers something they answer right on the post: a poll, a this or that between two photos, a quiz with a right answer, or an event they can say they’re going to. You can also show one of your own forms on a post. Every answer is kept in your Forms, so you can see the results there, and you can share the same form by link or email too.

My Dashboard (/dashboard/home) → Create post → Interactive tab. Pick the kind at the top: Poll, This or that, Quiz, Event or My form.

  1. Type the Question (up to 200 characters).
  2. Fill in the Choices: 2 to 6, each different (up to 80 characters). Add a choice adds one; the bin removes one.
  3. Turn on Let people pick more than one if more than one answer can be true.
  4. Choose Who sees the results: People who answered (the default), Everyone, right away, or Everyone, once it closes.
  5. Choose when Answers close: Never, In 1 day, In 3 days, In 1 week, or At a time I choose (at least an hour from now). Everyone, once it closes needs a closing time.
  6. Add a caption if you like, then Post.

Two photos side by side; people tap the one they like.

  1. Type the question, for example Which collar?
  2. Select This and That to choose a photo for each, and give each a short label if you like (up to 40 characters).
  3. Choose who sees the results and when answers close, as for a poll, then Post.

Photos you use can be seen by everyone who sees the post, like any photo in a post.

  1. Type the question and 2 to 4 Answers.
  2. Mark the right answer with the circle beside it (exactly one).
  3. Add an Explanation if you like. It shows with the right answer after someone answers.

After answering, people see the right answer in green, their own wrong pick in red, the explanation, and how many got it right.

Turn on Let people retake the quiz (under the explanation) to let people answer again. Their latest answer counts. While retakes are open, people only see whether their own pick was right (Right! or Not quite) and Try again: the right answer and the explanation stay hidden until the quiz closes, so a retake is a real second try. Without it, an answer can’t be changed.

  1. Type the Event name.
  2. Choose when it Starts (at least 5 minutes from now) and, if you like, when it Ends (up to 30 days after the start).
  3. Add Where (a place, an address, or Online).
  4. Post.

The post shows the date, the time and the place, a countdown in days, hours and minutes until it starts, then Happening now and Ended. People answer Going, Interested or Can’t go, can change their answer, and everyone sees how many are going and interested. Answers close when the event ends.

You can move an event later with Edit post: change when it starts and ends, or where.

My form lists your open forms from Forms. Pick one and post. Longer forms show on the post as a card with the form’s name, how many questions it has and Answer, which opens the form’s page.

Select a choice to answer. On a poll that lets people pick more than one, tick your choices and select Vote. What you see next depends on the poster’s choice of Who sees the results: the results as bars with percentages, or Results show after you vote / Results show when it closes. Where answers can change, Change your answer and Take back sit under the results.

A public post’s poll, quiz or event shows on its author’s public profile page too, on any screen size. Anyone can see it and the results the poster shows everyone. To answer, select a choice: if you’re not signed in, you go to sign in (or create a free account) and come straight back to the post to answer. Signed in, you answer right there, as in the Dashboard. A post only its author’s followers or members can see doesn’t show on the public page.

A quiz shows What people scored under it once people have answered, when its results are shown: five bars from 0–19% to 80–100%, and the average score. A longer quiz you attach with My form shows Your score after you answer it. If the post has a reward with a pass mark, the line under the bars says how many reached it (64% scored 80% or more).

Every answer is saved in Forms → Responses under the poll’s name, with the date and where it came from. The Insights tab shows the totals and, under Where answers came from, how many came from a feed post, a shared link or an email. Copy link and Copy link for an email give you the form’s page to share elsewhere, and answers through each link are counted under its source.
