Sell settings

Open a product under Commerce → Products and press Sell this (not on sale yet), Continue setup (a draft left from an earlier attempt) or Selling settings (already on sale). Each opens the same six-step wizard, prefilled from the offer when there is one. Nothing is saved until you apply on the last step, and if a step fails on apply, the wizard tells you which one and lets you retry from there — the steps already applied are kept.

  1. Offer — condition, how it is priced (fixed price, make an offer, name your price, quote only, free), who may buy (public, members, verified or professional profiles, businesses, wholesale), which account receives the money, and whether bulk buyers may ask for a quote. Pricing mode and audience are fixed once the offer exists. The product’s own rules show here first: a prescription product, an age-restricted one, a controlled substance, or an owner who limits the conditions you may offer it in.
  2. Price & stock — the list price (only for modes that have one), stock or unlimited, the minimum and maximum per order, and an optional selling window. On an existing offer, leave the price box empty to keep the current price.
  3. Delivery — only what you fulfil. Add a method with a shortcut (ground shipping, local pickup, download for digital items, in-home or in-clinic for services, mail-order Rx for prescription products) or pick another one, then set lead time and fees or attach a shipping profile. Buyers need at least one active method to check out; without one the offer applies as a draft. Methods fulfilled by UPT are shown but managed through their own process. Televet (video or chat) and breeder transport are no longer offered: an offer that already has one live keeps it, but you can’t add one or switch it back on. How a sale finishes depends on the method: a parcel when it’s delivered, a local pickup when you mark it picked up, a download as soon as the buyer pays, and an in-home or in-clinic service when you mark it done.
  4. Origin & regions — Country of origin: use the catalog’s (shown, e.g. “CA — Canada”) or say this offer is made somewhere else and pick the country; buyers then see “Made in …” on this offer. Where you sell: add countries as Selling or Blocked. One Selling country turns the list into an allow-list; the product’s own regional restrictions still apply.
  5. Returns — optional. Leave it and the platform default applies (30 days, RMA, original packaging, unused, 20 % restocking, buyer pays return shipping); change anything and your own terms are saved.
  6. Review & go live — everything read back, with Edit links per section; switch Go live off to save without publishing. Apply & go live creates or updates the offer, files the price, delivery, regions and returns, activates it and lists it on the marketplace.

The tabbed Advanced settings screen (price lists, listings, distance pricing) is still there — linked from the wizard’s footer.

Every offer gets a 10-character offer code (for example K7M2Q4X9A3) when it is created. It never changes, it is never reused, and it identifies your offer — not the product (that is the item code, shared by every seller of the same product) and not your own SKU.

Where to see it:

  • Products table — the Offer code column, next to Item code; click the copy icon.
  • The product card, once the product is on sale.
  • The offer page header and its Overview tab.
  • The Sell settings wizard, above the steps, and on the Review step.
  • Every order: under each item on the sale page (with a copy button), and on the buyer’s order page and invoice. An order keeps the code the offer had when it was placed.
  • Buyers see it on the product page under Item Details. A buyer who types it into the store search lands on your product.

Print it on your packages and quote it to support: it tells us exactly which offer a parcel or a question is about, even after the offer has been withdrawn.

Type or paste an offer code into the search box on Commerce → Products: the 10 characters, or the longer UPC-OF-… form, in any case. When the code belongs to one of your offers, a card shows the code and the offer’s name. Press Enter or Open offer to go straight to that offer. Anything else is searched as usual.

In a sale’s Ship panel, leave Reference blank and the label prints the order’s offer codes. The empty field shows which codes that will be. Carriers only print a short reference, so the label carries as many whole codes as fit: three on Canada Post, UPS and FedEx, two on USPS. Type your own reference to print that instead. See Shipping → Ship an order.
