Pet passports and vaccination records

The pet passport is a small bound book for keeping your pet’s identification and vaccination history in one place. It is the same size as a human passport, and the pages are laid out the way a veterinarian expects to fill them in.

It is a record book. It is not the official EU Pet Passport, which only an authorized veterinarian in an EU or listed country can issue, and it does not replace an export health certificate.

What it does is keep everything together: microchip number, rabies and vaccination dates, parasite treatments, and your contact details. Many owners carry it alongside their official paperwork. Many others use it as their only record because they are not crossing a border.

If you are travelling internationally, check the destination country’s requirements first, then use this book for the history that sits behind those certificates.

Every page is printed in two languages at once, so a vet reading either one can complete the same page without a translation.

  • English and French suits Canada and much of Europe.
  • English and Spanish suits Latin America, Spain, and a large part of the United States.

Both editions carry English, so either one works at an English-speaking clinic. Pick the second language you are most likely to need someone to read.

There are eighteen cover colours, four of them in a leather grain finish. The book is identical inside whichever you pick.

If you have several animals, a different colour per pet is the easiest way to grab the right book on the way to an appointment. Breeders and clinics often use one colour per litter or per species for the same reason.

For two books, choose the 2-Pack. It costs less than two singles, and you pick the cover of each book: two different colours, or the same one twice. Choose 2-Pack under Pack Size, then pick a colour for Cover 1 and Cover 2 before adding it to your cart. If a colour you pick is not available, we send the closest colour to the one you chose.

Bigger packs come in 8, 10, 20, 50 and 100, either all one colour or as an assorted mix.

Single books, 2-packs and 8-packs ship free within the United States and Canada. The larger packs are priced for breeders, shelters and clinics, and shipping on those is worked out at checkout from the carrier’s rate for your address.

You can have pages printed with your pet’s details already in them: a full-page title page photo, two pet profile pages (names, species and breed, date of birth, sex, colour, microchip and tattoo, club registrations, your pet’s United Pet Club code, and a photo), and pet professional pages for your vet, breeder or groomer. Tick the pages you want on the product page — they can be combined — and fill in the details after you pay, one form per book, with your pet’s profile prefilled. Once submitted the details are locked and go to print; a change needs the seller’s approval.

There is a per-book charge for each page on top of the price of the passports, and it is lower per book on a pack than on a single order. The full walkthrough is on Personalized products.

Bring the book to your next appointment and ask the clinic to complete and stamp the vaccination page. Most clinics are used to this: it is the same information they already print out, written into one place instead of onto a loose sheet.

Keep the microchip number on the identification page up to date. If your pet is ever lost, that number is what links the animal back to you.
