Connected apps (Partner API)
The Partner API lets apps work with your bookings: your own booking app or website, a booking plugin on your WordPress site, a salon CRM that keeps your calendar in sync, a marketplace that books clients for you, or an AI assistant. A connected app can see your services and open times, book, move and cancel appointments, read your client list and get a notice when an appointment changes — but only what you allow, and only for the business you connect.
Connecting apps is free. Your business needs a valid payment card on file (Finances → Billing): apps work only while you keep one, so that the bookings and services they create can be charged. Adding a card is a $0 verification — nothing is charged when you add it. See Why we ask for a card.
Connect an app
Section titled “Connect an app”You start in the app, not in United Pet Club: it has a button such as Connect United Pet Club. It sends you to the United Pet Club consent page.
- Sign in if you’re asked to.
- Check the business at the top. The app will work with that business’s bookings. If you manage more than one, choose the right one.
- Read who made the app and what it asks for. Not reviewed by United Pet Club means its developer registered it and we have not checked it. Unverified app — Registered by a website address — means the app registered itself, for example a plugin on a website, and nobody at United Pet Club has checked it. Only connect apps you trust, and for an unverified app, only if you trust that website.
- Check where you’ll go back to: the page says After you choose, you’ll go back to the app’s site.
- Select Allow. You’re taken back to the app, which is now connected.
Select Deny to go back without connecting anything.
“Add a payment card first” on the consent page means the business has no valid payment card on file, so Allow is off. Select Go to Billing, add a card, then come back to the page and allow the app.
“We couldn’t check your payment card just now” means the check didn’t go through. Select Try Again in a moment.
“This link can’t be used” means the app sent an incomplete or unknown request. Go back to the app and try again, or contact its developer; nothing was connected.
What an app can be allowed to do
Section titled “What an app can be allowed to do”| On the consent page | What the app can do |
|---|---|
| See services, prices and availability | Read your services, prices, opening times and free slots, and ask for price estimates |
| See appointments | Read your appointments — all of them, not only the ones it booked |
| Book, reschedule and cancel appointments | Make bookings for clients, and move or cancel appointments |
| See clients and pets | Read your clients (names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, addresses) and their pets |
| Get appointment notices | Be told when an appointment is booked, changed or cancelled |
Bookings an app makes follow your own rules, exactly like bookings from your booking page: your opening hours, lead time, deposits, agreements and grooming questions all apply. The app never takes payments; deposits and balances are paid through United Pet Club as usual. Each booking’s timeline notes that a partner app made it.
See and disconnect your apps
Section titled “See and disconnect your apps”Settings → Connected Apps in your dashboard lists every app connected to the business you’re acting as: who made it, whether we reviewed it, what it can do, when you connected it and when it last worked with your bookings. An app that registered itself is marked Unverified and shows the website it came from instead of who made it. A note below the list reminds you that connecting apps is free, explains the card and links to Billing.
To stop an app, select Disconnect and confirm. It loses access within seconds and stops getting your appointment notices. Appointments it already booked stay on your calendar. You can connect it again later from the app.
Show Disconnected Apps lists the apps you disconnected before.
The same list is also in your account settings, under Security → Connected Apps, with a Profile box to switch between the profiles you can act as.
When your card lapses
Section titled “When your card lapses”If your card on file expires, is declined, needs re-verifying, or you remove it, your connected apps stop working with your bookings within a minute and their notices stop; notices about changes in the meantime aren’t sent later. The apps stay on your Connected Apps list, so they work again within seconds of a valid card being back on Finances → Billing — you don’t have to connect them again.
Building your own app?
Section titled “Building your own app?”Anyone can register an app for the Partner API from their United Pet Club account — see Developer apps. A website plugin or an AI assistant can also register itself. Developers find the technical guide at developers.unitedpetclub.com.
