Limits on listings, breeds, litters and posts
Listing animals, declaring the breeds you breed, registering litters and publishing blog posts are free on United Pet Club, for every profile. To keep spam and abuse off the site, each of these has a limit: how much a profile can do in a day, or have at once. The limits are generous for an established, verified profile and smaller for a brand-new one.
No plan raises a limit, and there is nothing to buy. What raises your limits is verifying your profile and your profile getting older.
What sets your limits
Section titled “What sets your limits”Each profile has its own limits, worked out from four things:
- The type of profile: a personal profile, a business profile, or an organization profile (a shelter, rescue, club or association, for example).
- Whether the profile is verified. A personal profile is verified when your identity is verified. A business or organization is verified when the business is verified. Both happen under Finances → Receive payments; see Receive payments and Verifying your business.
- How old the profile is: under 30 days, 30 to 90 days, or 90 days or older, counted from the day you created the profile.
- Your track record on United Pet Club. A profile with a long, good track record gets more room. A profile that has been restricted because of a problem drops to the smallest limits until the problem is sorted out (see Your standing).
Some kinds of business also have their own limits. Verified shelters and rescues, for example, can have many more listings at once.
The usual limits
Section titled “The usual limits”These are the limits most profiles start with. We may adjust them, and a good track record can raise them further. “Per day” means in the last 24 hours, not since midnight.
| Personal profile, new and not verified | Personal profile, verified or 90 days old | Business or organization, not verified | Business, verified | Organization, verified | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Animal listings at once | 2 | 5 | 5 | 250 | 500 |
| New animal listings per day | 1 | 3 | 3 | 25 | 25 |
| Litter listings at once | 1 | 3 | 3 | no limit | no limit |
| Photos per listing | 8 | 12 | 12 | 30 | 30 |
| Video on a listing | yes | yes | yes | yes | yes |
| Protected deposits | no | yes | yes | yes | yes |
| Promoted days per month | none | none | none | 7 | 7 |
| Listings pinned to your showcase | 1 | 3 | 3 | 12 | 12 |
| Saved searches | 3 | 10 | 10 | 25 | 25 |
| Breeds per species, as a breeder | 1 | 2 | 3 | 24 | 24 |
| Litters registered per day | 1 | 2 | 2 | 10 | 10 |
| Open litters (expected or born) | 1 | 3 | 3 | no limit | no limit |
| New blog posts per day | 1 | 3 | 3 | 10 | 10 |
A personal profile that isn’t verified moves to the second column on the day it turns 90 days old.
When you reach a limit
Section titled “When you reach a limit”You don’t get an upgrade window. Instead, a message right where you were explains the limit. It has up to four parts.
- What you reached, for example:
- You’ve reached your listing limit or You’ve started as many listings as you can today
- This listing has as many photos as it can hold
- You’ve listed as many breeds of this species as you can
- You’ve reached your open litter limit or You’ve registered as many litters as you can today
- You’ve published as many new posts as you can today
- How much you’re using: You’re using 5 of 5. For a daily limit it says how many in the last 24 hours and when you can try again, for example 1 of 1 in the last 24 hours. You can try again at 3:40 PM.
- Your limit is set by: small labels with your profile type, your kind of business or main profession when you have one (Shelter or rescue, Kennel or cattery, Breeder, …), Verified or Not verified, and your profile’s age, for example Person profile, Not verified, Under 30 days old.
- What raises it, when something would:
- Once your profile is verified: the limit becomes 5., with a Verify your profile link to Finances → Receive payments;
- On 10 January 2027 your profile turns 90 days old: the limit becomes 5.
When a listing feature isn’t available yet (video or protected deposits), the message says Video isn’t available for your profile yet or Protected deposits aren’t available for your profile yet.
Nothing you were working on is lost. A litter you were registering keeps everything you filled in, and a new blog post that couldn’t be published is saved as a draft: Your post is saved as a draft. Publish it from the post once the limit allows.
Making room
Section titled “Making room”A limit on what you have at once frees up as soon as you make room:
| Limit | How to make room |
|---|---|
| Animal listings | Pause, mark as placed or remove a listing. |
| Litter listings | Close, pause or remove a litter listing. A litter listing whose litter has a Litter Pass doesn’t count. |
| Photos | Remove a photo to add another. |
| Showcase | Take a listing off your showcase. |
| Saved searches | Delete a saved search. |
| Breeds | Remove a breed of the same species. Breeds of another species have their own limit. |
| Open litters | Mark an open litter as weaned or closed. Cancelling a litter you registered by mistake frees its place at once. |
A daily limit frees up 24 hours after the oldest action it counts. Waiting is the only way to make room on a daily limit.
What counts towards a limit
Section titled “What counts towards a limit”- Blog posts: only a post’s first publish counts. Publishing it again after unpublishing, editing it, or publishing the same post in another language doesn’t count. A post you schedule counts at the time it is scheduled to go live.
- Animal listings per day: listings you create, not listings brought in automatically from a rescue’s own website or feed.
- Promoted days: days of promotion that start in the current calendar month.
- Breeds: breeds you declare as a breeder. Kennels and catteries are not limited.
If something went wrong
Section titled “If something went wrong”I verified my profile but the limit didn’t change. The new limit applies from your next try once the verification shows as complete on Finances → Receive payments. A business is verified separately from the person who runs it: verifying your personal identity raises your personal profile’s limits, not your business’s.
The message says “We couldn’t check your profile just now.” That happens when publishing a blog post and we couldn’t read your profile’s details for a moment. Nothing was published; try again shortly.
I need more than the limit allows for a legitimate reason (moving a whole kennel’s listings onto United Pet Club, for example). Contact support and tell us what you need.
