Short URLs

Short URLs turn any web address into a small link on upc.pet that’s easy to print, share and track. You’ll find them in the Dashboard under Marketing → UPC.Pet → Short URLs. Short URLs belong to a profile, so switch profiles in the sidebar to manage the right ones.

There are two kinds:

  • Community links live under your UPC.pet page handle: upc.pet/yourhandle/c/yourcode. They’re included with your page — you need a UPC.pet page first (the Community tab will point you to the page editor if you don’t have one yet).
  • Premier links are the shortest form — upc.pet/s/yourcode — from a single shared pool of codes across the whole platform, so the best names go fast. Codes are 3–10 characters.
  1. Pick the Community or Premier tab and select Create.
  2. Enter the destination — the web address the link should open (it must start with http:// or https://).
  3. Optionally choose your own code (letters, numbers, dashes). Leave it empty and we’ll generate one for you. On Premier links you’ll see live availability as you type.
  4. Optionally add a title (just for your own list) and an expiry date — after expiry the link stops forwarding until you extend or re-activate it.

The code can’t be changed after the link is created — that’s what keeps printed QR codes and shared links trustworthy. The destination, title and expiry stay editable any time.

Each row shows the public URL (copy it or open it in a new tab from the row menu), the destination, how many times the link was visited and when it was last used, and its status (Active, Off, or Expired). From the row menu you can:

  • Edit the destination, title or expiry.
  • Download QR Code — a ready-to-print PNG that opens your short URL.
  • Turn Off / Turn On — pause a link without deleting it.
  • Delete — removes the link permanently; the code is not reusable afterwards.

Links starting with upc.pet/t/… are printed on United Pet Club pet tags and are managed by the platform — they always work out of the box: scanning an unregistered tag offers to register it to your account, and scanning a registered tag shows a safe way to contact the pet’s owner without sharing anyone’s personal details. See Pet ID for registering your tags.
